Youth Program at ICC Melbourne

Our Youth program at ICC is designed for young people in Years 8 to 12. The material used by the Youth is the same material used by ICC Gospel Growth Groups, which is sermon-based. For the youth, this material is divided into three separate sessions (1) Focuses on understanding the Scripture, (2) Focuses on engaging with the Scripture as presented in the sermon, and (3) Focuses on contextually applying the Scripture.

Our Youth program runs every Sunday during school terms. The program begins at 11am at the main service hall with a combined praise and worship session. Afterwards, the youth will go up to level 2 for their discussion session.

Youth Transition Program

Given the different discussion dynamics, we have a transition program to bridge the transition from Sunday School to Youth. This program is open for the Year 7s in the Sunday School Emu Class. In Communication with parents, year 7s are invited to join the Youth program every fourth and fifth week as a way to ease their way into becoming a part of the Youth program the following year.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I register my teen for the Youth program?

If you are new to ICC Melbourne and you want to register your teen/s for the program, please feel free to introduce yourself and your teen to Kezia, our Children and Youth Ministry Director. Kezia will be around at the main service hall on Sundays before class times.

How do I get more information about the program?

Once you and your teen/s have become a part of the program, you will be invited to a parent-teacher WhatsApp group. Through the group (1) You'll get updates from the teachers about the session, and (2) you'll receive announcements and information about the program (e.g., Parent-teacher meetings, school holidays, children's talk, etc). Additionally, if your teen uses WhatsApp, there is a separate group for the Youth where they can inform teachers of their attendance, and communicate with their peers outside of Sunday.

What does the Youth do in their session?

The Youth program is designed to be two-way. This means that each session is an opportunity for a guided discussion. If you are a part of 3G (Gospel Growth Group) at ICC, what you do during 3G is what the youth do during their session. They discuss, share, and reflect. At the Youth program, we don't only talk about the gospel, we also talk about how the gospel can and should be real in our lives.
